DOT & CHP compliance, the way auditors actually want it.
The federal annual inspection isn't optional. Neither is California's CHP BIT program for heavier classes. We handle the full inspection, the documentation, and the binder.

Overview
Federal 49 CFR §396.17 requires every commercial motor vehicle to pass an annual inspection by a qualified inspector. California layers on the Biennial Inspection of Terminals (BIT) program for heavier classes, plus periodic CHP enforcement.
Most owner-operators and small carriers we meet are doing this work themselves, late, and with paperwork that wouldn't survive a level-one inspection. We take the work off your plate, deliver the binder, and stand behind it.
What gets inspected
- Brake system — service, parking, emergency
- Coupling devices and fifth-wheel components
- Exhaust system integrity
- Fuel system — leaks, mounts, lines
- Lighting devices and reflectors per CFR §393.11
- Steering mechanism — wear, free play, tie rods
- Suspension — leaves, air, ride height
- Frame, body, cab, and load-securement components
- Tires — tread, pressure, sidewall, mismatched casings
- Wheels, rims, and fasteners
- Windshield, glazing, wipers, defrost

FAQ
Questions we hear about this service
Are your inspectors qualified under 49 CFR §396.19?+
Yes. All Carsaman inspectors meet the federal qualification standard and we maintain current training records for every team member, which we provide on request.
Can you do the inspection at our yard?+
Yes, for any fleet of three or more vehicles. We bring lights, brake gauges, the OBD scanner, and the printer. You provide level ground and access.
What if a vehicle fails?+
We give you a written list of failure items with severity, photos, and rough repair-cost guidance. We do not perform the repairs ourselves, but we'll re-inspect at no charge within 30 days of the original visit.
Do you support CARB clean-truck requirements?+
Yes. We track current CARB compliance windows for medium- and heavy-duty operators and flag any vehicle approaching a deadline.
